Al Nasr defeated Al Ittihad in Riyadh 92-81. Al Nasr forced 19 Al Ittihad turnovers. Algerian Mohamed Harat (198-1990) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Al Ittihad will play next round against strong Mudhar trying to get back on the winning streak. Al Nasr will try to continue on its current victory against Al Fateh in Al Hasa.
Al Fateh recorded a loss in Al Hasa. Hosts were rolled over by Al Ahli 119-77. American forward Alfonzo McKinnie (202-1992, college: Green Bay) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Nick Perkins supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 37 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds by Serbian center Lazar Nekic (213-1999, college: LMU) did not help to save the game for Al Fateh. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Ahli will play against Al Khewaildia in the next round where they are favorite. Al Fateh will play against Al Nasr to get more than just one victory in their record.
Al-Ula crushed at home Ohod by 55 points 114-59, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. The best player for the winners was Jonathan Gibson who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Al-Ula's coach Stratos Koukoulekidis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mohammad Altasan produced 13 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Al-Ula will meet Al Khaleej in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ohod will play against Al Salam in Al-Awamiyah and hope to win that game.
In the last two games of round 2 Al Khaleej lost to Mudhar on the opponent's court 63-73. Al Khewaildia was outscored by Al Salam in a home game 59-79.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by Alex Young of Al Salam.
